Wadada

A 3 track post bop single (16m 8s) — released November 2nd 2018 on LOFT RECORDS

The Solomon Gundy Band, as fiery and complex as the Jamaican fish paste of the same name, is a group of seasoned UK jazz and improv veterans.

Wadada is their first release. A rousing piece of heavy groove, laced with electronics and mind-bending solos, featuring stirring commentary on the aftermath of Grenfell from Ladbroke Grove firebrand, Ismael Blaigrove.

The 6-piece is led by trumpeter Sean Corby, with Jonny Enright (trombone), George King (piano), Martin Chung (guitar), Simon Edwards (bass) and Daniel Crosby (drums).

The band members have played with a diverse array of artists including Elbow, Gregory Isaacs, Jah Wobble, Jazz Jamaica, Phil Asher, Working Week, Michael Jackson, Talk Talk, Grupo X and many more.
